Technetium in the Environment
This volume presents the proceedings of an international seminar examining the environmental behavior of technetium, with particular emphasis on technetium‑99. It addresses sources and environmental distribution of technetium released from nuclear fuel cycles and medical applications, its chemical speciation and mobility in soils and aquatic systems, and its biochemical interactions in plants and animals. The book compiles experimental findings, methodological approaches for measurement, and assessments of radiological consequences, concluding with research recommendations for improved environmental impact evaluation.
