Organized into four major sections—“Learning to Teach,” “Teaching to Learn,” “Organizing for Teaching and Learning,” and “Supporting and Enhancing Learning and Teaching.” The book blends theoretical foundations of early childhood pedagogy with concrete classroom examples (“cameos”), reflective prompts, and practical guidance on planning, assessment, responding to SEN, promoting equality, and developing professionalism. Later editions (4th in 2011, 5th in 2017) expanded scope to include interagency working, physical activity, and further curriculum developments.
